Kathi Munson - Founder of Voices of Enlightenment & Intuitive Kat
Kathi has known she was different from a very young age. Her first experience was when she was 5 years old, playing with her Barbies in her childhood room. She felt a presence in the room with her that wanted to play and happily handed a doll over to them.
Often, she would wake in the middle of the night after hearing and feeling things in her room around her. She would go to her mother's room and say "Mom, I'm hearing things, there is someone in my room," but would be told it was just her imagination, to go back to sleep. It was scary at first, as she didn't understand what was going on. This caused her to put her gifts and her dolls away.
While growing up she would constantly hear songs in her head and would make up her own as well. Singing gave her a voice, a way to express herself - people would listen to her when she sang. As an adult, she became a professional singer and she recalls how wonderful it felt to use her voice as her form of expression. She still had things come to her like in her childhood, but she did not want to express what she was experiencing.
After she married her loving husband and became pregnant with her twins she know something changed for her, something opened up. It felt different, in a good way. Her senses didn't scare her anymore, starting to feel almost-normal. She felt connected to the tiny lives in her belly. The connection was incredibly strong and throughout her pregnancy she communicated with her unborn twins regularly. The conversation was two-way.
After giving birth to her children she became more curious about her gifts and developed a strong desire to finally understand and accept them. The problem? She had no idea where to turn or who to ask for help. Around this time there was another development - she had acquired the ability to see spirits in addition to hearing and feeling them. Her first "seeing" experience was in a family friend's living room where she saw bright flashes of swirling light in the room. This motivated her even more towards understanding her powers.
She sought out a reading from the renowned psychic, Gary McKinstry. In his assessment of her "gift" he advised that she was meant to use her gift to help others. He told her "Stop hiding your light under a bushel," meaning she had a safe place to use her voice. He advised her on her psychic and medium abilities and became her mentor. Through her development, Kathi was able to connect with her Spirit guides and found her "group" of guides, angels, archangels, light beings, ascended masters, and past loved ones that guide her in her life and work. Her readings are full of love, bleassings, and focused on messages for her client's higher good because of her lovely team.
Kathi has worked various jobs, but conducted readings on the side and provided them with messages from their passed loved ones. It brought her such joy and happiness and this confirmed what she was meant to do in this lifetime. Her new business, Intuitive Kat, began to grown and she made the decision to become a psychic medium full time. She knew it was the right choice in her heart, but had the challenge of providing for her family. She stuck with her choice and is so fulfilled and grateful to this very day.
As time went on her clients became curious about her skills and many of them wanted to learn from her as well. Beginning in 2008, Kathi began teaching Reiki, a form of energy healing. Her classes began to grow and it seemed her clients and students were hungry for more. This lead Kathi to develop a plethora of classes and offerings to this day. Lessons include tarot and angel cards, pet communication, Reiki I-III, grounding & protection, past life regressions, and crystal healing. Kathi also conducts house clearings and blessings, and has worked with law enforcement on criminal investigations.
As Kathi says it herself, "I know this is my purpose and am excited to be on my life path where I am able to help people."
In the past few years, she has started to help clients through coaching during life transformations, work, new jobs, relationships, and anything else causing them angst. Close to her heart is her work with gifted children, knowing how it feels to be "different" and misunderstood. She is passionate about mentoring them to use their true voice, a voice Kathi feels is very much needed in this world.
